How do I get started?
What can I wear?
Wear clothes that you feel comfortable moving in, such as leggings, sweatpants, yoga pants, t-shirt, tank top, etc. Fancy athletic wear is not required. If you wear shorts, it is a good idea to wear biker shorts underneath to prevent exposure during movements such as straddle stretches. Shoes are not worn during Pilates classes, but we do request that you wear socks. Socks with grippy bottoms are especially good for Pilates and are available to purchase at our studio.
What is the difference between private and semiprivate lessons?
Private Pilates sessions involve a student working one-on-one with an instructor who is totally focused on their experience. The client receives the full attention of the instructor. The entire session is tailored to the needs, goals, and current state of the client, and the instructor has the ability to make very detailed observations and corrections.
Semiprivate Pilates sessions involve two students working with one instructor. Each student still receives a lot of individual attention, but the class plan will be more generalized to suit the needs, goals, and limitations of both people.
What if I want to do semiprivate lessons but don’t have a partner to bring?
We will do our best to pair you with other interested clients who are working at a similar level. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee we will find an appropriate partner, but we will certainly try our best and are often successful.
Can I get a refund if I decide I don’t like it?
Beyond Pilates is unable to give refunds. We suggest that you purchase single sessions until you are sure you’re ready to commit to a series of classes. An extension of the expiration period may be granted in cases of emergency or medical leave. Please visit our Cancellation Policy page for additional information.
What if I need to reschedule?
If you need to reschedule an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice. We will do our best to move your session to a more convenient day or time. Please note that we cannot reschedule appointments for the same day; if you contact us to reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment, you will still be charged for that missed session.
